About Me

My educational background is technology. My passion is in community empowerment and improved resource access (water, energy, agriculture). Where does that leave me? That’s what I’m hoping to discover.

When I started college, I could never have imagined that I would have the guts to try something unconventional with my future. But during my four years, I began to realize that something about traditional engineering/computer science career paths felt uninviting. I realized how much I wanted to pursue a life that would fulfill my whole self and challenge me in diverse ways. So after graduating college, traveling, and spending time with friends and family, I set off to India to embark on roughly a years worth of adventures. My work ended up taking me all around the world, giving me a taste of an entirely different lifestyle, one that I fell in love with. As I strive to continue growing my career and pursuing impactful work, I also seek opportunities to further connect with family and cultural roots as well as push myself to grow as much as possible.

I keep this blog for a variety of reasons. Writing and reflecting on my experiences helps me take a step back and process the world around me. It has also been very special to have such a carefully crafted documentation of my journeys to look back on. But maybe most importantly, this process has helped sustain and strengthen communications with friends and family. The combination of photos with my writing keeps people close to me who otherwise had little context to understand what my life is like. Explaining my motivations, my life choices, and my current occupation isn’t something that can be accomplished in a quick sentence. So this is how I try and share my story.

To the people I love most, you are now are scattered around the world. I am semi-constantly saying hellos and goodbyes and often I don’t know when I’ll see you next. But regardless of how far away you are, I wouldn’t be the person I am proud to be today or the person I dream of becoming tomorrow without you in my life.  Thank you for coming along on my adventures, putting up with my lifestyle, and supporting me so deeply.

Thank you for reading! If you ever want to know more, I’m always happy to hear from you!
